Ketubah artist Temma Gentles' background includes many hours spent with her grandparents in their ladies’ wear store in Toronto. She studied literary symbolism in English and Russian at University of Toronto, and later graduated from Ontario College of Art. Her work has won prestigious awards and is owned by several museums. She is a founder of the Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Needlework and is on the executive board of the Textile Museum's Volunteer Association. Temma considers that the essence of all her work is bringing stories to life.
