Description:
This fused glass Hanukkah Menorah is made by artist Tamara Baskin. No two hancrafted pieces by Tamara Baskin are ever the same colors. The Dancing Flames Menorah is a new item for Fall 2006. A piece from the Tamara Baskin collection will be a welcome addition to any home for Hanukkah.
The Hanukkah Menorah -- or ''Hanukiah'' -- is traditionally a beautiful eight-branched candelabra with a ninth branch, the Shamash, to serve as the ''helper'' candle. The miracle of Hanukkah is represented by each of the eight Menorah candles, which symbolize the eight nights of Hanukkah. Lighting the Menorah for the Jewish ''Festival of Lights'' is a celebration of Jewish History, and also serves as a reminder of the seven-branched Temple Menorah, which is one of the oldest symbols of Jewish faith and the nation of Israel. In Hebrew the word ''Hanukkah'' means ''dedication.'' Menorah lighting from the Tamara Baskin collection of Judaica ritual items is a tradition to be enjoyed by many families for the Jewish Holidays.
